A Rose for my Wife on our anniversary

A Rose….window… anyway. It’s our anniversary today, 4 years. So here is a picture I took from one of our favorite places in DC, the National Cathedral.

Plans for the weekend are a road trip thru Virginia, to a cabin near Laurie Caverns. So there will be some info on that on later posts, and if my phone works well maybe some updates during the trip.

But to round this back into a DC related topic, since it is for the blog. Here is a little info on the rose window at the National Cathedral. The cathedral is a few block from our apartment, on Wisconsin Ave and Cathedral Ave. But I will try and make a post later dedicated just to the Cathedral later.

There are 3 rose windows on the cathedral, with the largest over the main entrance facing Wisconsin Ave. It is said to be 26’ in diameter and about 70’ up in the air. If you go early enough on the day you can see the most beautiful light coming thru all the stain glass projecting on the columns.

There is more to be said about the National Cathedral, but we will cover that more on a later post. For another photo of the Cathedral including the rose window, look here at the first post ever in the blog. I took it during a presentation from an artist that projects images on buildings.

Happy Anniversary, Claudia. Let’s have a great trip.
