Nature get away near DC....Rock Creek Regional Park

Claudia and I decided to find a place to go grill and get a little bit of nature. Surprisingly, there are a lot more parks in the DC area then one would think. We decide to venture a bit further, to a park neither of us had been to before.

Just outside Rockville Maryland, there is a small lake with picnic areas, bike and hiking trails and boats, called Rock Creek Regional Park. Not really the kind of place one can easily get to, driving is really the only way to get there, unless you want to take the 13 mile bike ride from the DC border. We packed up the mini grill, some bison steaks (from the farmers market), picked up some drinks on the way and found our self a green area to settle. Did some light hiking after the food, and were back home within 4 hours of leaving.

I recommend the park to anyone in the area, next time we will take Newton and Bailey.
