Places to see….Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Washington DC

Unfortunately the original dedication ceremony of the new Martin Luther King Jr. memorial was canceled on August 28th due to hurricane Irene. A new date has been announced for October 16th. About a week before the original dedication date I was lucky enough to get a quick peek at the memorial thru the fence. Inside I’ve posted some of the photos of this brand new memorial in Washington DC.

Marine One Sighting

I was over by the Washington Monument with the family (Claudia, Newton and Bailey) working on some possible X-mas card photos, when Marine One (Presidents Helicopter) flew right over us and very close to the monument.

I snapped a few photos of it in air and while landing that I figured I would post up. Just look inside....

Not a refenrence to how bad the team is at all. We took Bailey to his first baseball game as the Nationals were having a Pups at the Park day.

Lots of dogs all around having fun, the Nats won and Bailey made the jumbotron. A good day all around, read more for more pictures of the game.

New York Avenue Sculpture Project

I recently noticed some new sculptures on the median along New York Avenue near my job (between 13th and 14tth Streets NW). I waited until a nice weather day to check them out and take a few photos, only to walk right into the middle of a dedication ceremony.

10 Residence’s in DC of our time

If you have been following the posts, you will have noticed the last 10 photos posted have all been of windows. While DC is best known for its civic buildings and monuments; recently I have been more interested on the residential architecture of DC. So I compiled a list of the 10 residences I find most interesting. As is my inclination I focused on, let’s just say houses of our time, for lack of a better term contemporary houses.
