Things have been busy lately, there hasn’t been a lot of time to post, but I’m trying to re-commit myself to this blog.


So, in an effort to continue with the statue project:

One of sciences' most influential minds also has a statue in DC. I first saw a photo of the statue in a magazine. One day I decided to look for it and see just who visits the father of modern physics…

So today was the first snow of the year for the DC area. Some more photos of our day out in the snow inside.

Some street photography as filler during a busy month

Really busy at work trying to get drawings out for the project by the end of the month. So with time to post hard to find, I figured I would post some photos. Earlier in the year I took a photography class, at the time we had to select a theme. My theme was street photography, and I have just sort of continued it. So some photos I've taken lately from around the city after the jump.

“The People’s Marathon”

Yesterday was the 34th annual Marine Corps Marathon, here in DC. We decided to head down to the course and take a look, cheer on some runners.

Solar Decathlon 2009 @ National Mall

Every 2 years college and university teams from not only the US, but around the world design, build and operate energy efficient (and solar powered) houses. Those houses are currently displayed, competing and open for tour on the National Mall. Claudia and I attended two years ago, and we have headed out there a couple of times this year to check it out.

First Entry - We begin in DC

Decided to start a blog a few days ago, I had been thinking about it for a bit. Ever since I moved from South Florida, almost 7 years ago, to DC I have seen and experienced “The City” like I never realized I would. I want this to be a place were I can write down the experiences, locations, events and general everyday life from living(/walking) in a city.

My “laboratory”, currently Washington DC. My “Lab” partners, my wife Claudia, my faithful companion/cat Newton, and Newton's dog Bailey. Claudia is a local to the area and could tell you how to get around better then I ever could. Newton made the trip from South Florida with me, but he enjoys walking the city as much as I do. Bailey is the new member of the family, and yes he is Newton's dog.

Not sure how it will go yet, but hopefully everyone that reads will enjoy the journey of “walking” the city.
